This was not intended to be my first tattoo by any means, but sometimes life throws you a curveball. I went to Skate and Surf festival May 18th and 19th knowing in the back of my mind that Frank would be there. I never though I would actually meet him. But on the first day, Saturday, after his set for Death Spells, he came out and signed stuff for a bunch of people. When he got to me he said “Hi!” with a smile on his face and I asked for a hug. After I hugged him, I started crying and said “I just want to thank you so much for everything. My Chemical Romance literally saved my life.” and he grabbed me and said “Oh! Don’t cry! Thank YOU!” and hugged me again. I didn’t have anything for him to sign, so I told him to just sign my arm. Once he did, I did everything to make sure it didn’t wash off. I messaged my friend who is a piercer and asked if he could set me up an appointment with the tattoo artist at his studio as soon as possible. I got this tattoo on Tuesday the 21st. I tweeted a picture to Frank hoping he would see it and he DM’ed me and said “That’s crazy and I love it. xofrnk.” and it was the best thing to wake up to. All I ever wanted for the past eight years was to meet someone from MCR and I always said if I had to choose to only meet one, I’d want it to be Frank, and by chance, it was.
This tattoo was done by MJ Bonanno at Hydravolve Studios in Somerdale, New Jersey. He made me feel so comfortable since, like I said, this was my first tattoo. He thought it was so cool that I got to meet my hero and I think he did a great job with what he had, considering it was almost completely faded by the time I got there.
